Tinubu's Government Has Turned Blind Eye To Plight Of Nigerians – PDP

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has been chastised by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for allegedly failing to rescue the eight National Youth Service (NYSC) members kidnapped by unknown gunmen, DAILY POST reports.

According to reports, gunmen suspected of being terrorists seized the eight corps members along a highway in Zamfara State last Friday. The kidnappers have subsequently demanded N4 million in ransom from the corps members’ families. In a statement issued on Monday by its National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, the PDP stated that the ruling party was oblivious to Nigerians’ security.

The statement reads in part: “The PDP describes as distressing that the APC government has turned a blind eye to the plight of Nigerians with no concrete commitment towards the safety of our citizens’ lives, despite the killing of over 500 Nigerians in Plateau, Benue, Niger, Kaduna, and other states of the federation, with many more abducted since May 29, 2023. “The APC government’s failure to act decisively since the abduction of eight corps members on their way to Sokoto State for their one-year mandatory national service is another ugly testament to the APC government’s insensitivity to citizens’ security, safety, and well-being.”
