In regards to the issue of alleged overvoting said to have taken place in Nkanu East Local Government Area during the March 18 governorship elections in the state, INEC has requested that the Enugu Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal rely on the certified true copies of BVAS data tendered by candidate of the Labour Party.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) asked the Tribunal on Saturday to accept as valid evidence copies of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation Systems (BiVAS) machines used for the Owoh and Ugbawka areas in Nkanu East that the commission had availed to the Labour Party.

According to French media, singer and actress Jane Birkin, who was born in the United Kingdom, has passed away at the age of 76.

Gov. Zulum’s Midnight Trip to the Gwoza Hospital Leaves Him Shocked

On Saturday, Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum voiced his disappointment at the General Hospital in Gwoza town due to its lack of electricity and other subpar conditions.
The governor, in town for only a day, decided to pay an unannounced visit to the hospital at midnight on Saturday.
After touring the facility, Zulum was disheartened by what he observed and voiced frustration that no one had alerted him to the problem.
Anambra County Police Arrest Daughter for Abusing Her Elderly Mother

Ukamaka Udeugbo, a woman from Anambra State, was taken into custody after a video surfaced of her abusing her elderly mother.
The 50-year-old suspect was reportedly apprehended on Saturday, July 15 in Umudunu village, Abagana, in the Njikoka Local Government Area of the state, as reported by Channels Television.
