Gov Eno Promises To Work Twice As Hard

GOVERNOR Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has promised to work twice as hard to give the citizens a good future and hope with corresponding growth and development.

Eno who stated this yesterday in speech he delivered to mark his 100 days in office, recalled that in his inaugural address pledged to concentrate developmental plans in the rural areas, while still expanding and consolidating urban renewal and other focal areas.

Akeredolu Meets With Ondo NASS Members In Ibadan

This was made known in a statement by Akeredolu’s Chief Press Secretary, Richard Olatunde, on Saturday. At the meeting, the Governor reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to actualising a deep seaport in the state.

He said there is no going back on the actualisation of the lofty project. Governor Akeredolu emphasized that the deep seaport is essential for the economic development of the state.

DPO Killed During Shootout With Cult Group In Rivers

The incident which occurred in the late hours of Friday, followed reports of a shootout between policemen on operation and members of a notorious cult group in Odeimude community of Ahoada East.

According to sources familiar with the situation, SP Bako and his men were engaged in a fierce gun battle with a notorious cult leader in the area called 2baba when they reportedly ran out of ammunition, in the absence of any reinforcements, the policemen beat a tactical retreat but unfortunately the DPO who had suffered bullet wounds during the exchange was captured by the cultists, while a police informant who was injured is being treated in an undisclosed location.

Disclosing this in a statement, the President’s Media Adviser, Ajuri Ngelale said he commiserates with all families who lost loved ones and all those otherwise affected by this tragedy, while wishing a full and swift recovery to those who were injured.

President Tinubu assured the government and people of Morocco that the heartfelt prayers and thoughts of Nigerians are with them during this difficult moment of tragedy.
