Atiku, Shettima Meet In Abuja

Vice-President, Kashim Shettima, and former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar met at a wedding ceremony in Abuja on Saturday.

This is one of the rare meetings between the duo since legal dispute began over the 2023 General Elections.

Atiku, who was Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the election, is currently challenging the victory of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) under which Shettima ran on a joint ticket with President Bola Tinubu.

But at the wedding between Mohammed (Ameer) Bunu and Ikramullah Jamal Arabi. both men set aside political differences and exchanged pleasantries.

Among those who attended the wedding which took place at the Al-Nur Mosque in the nation’s capital were Maj General Babagana Monguno (rtd), former National Security Adviser, Prof Ali Isa Pantami, immediate Past Minister of Communication and Digital Economy; and other prominent personalities.

FG charges Emefiele for illegal possession of firearm

The Federal Government has filed a two-count charge of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition against Godwin Emefiele, the suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, before the Federal High Court.

According to Channels Television’s report on Sunday, the Federal Government accused Emefiele of possessing a single-barrel shotgun without a licence.

The government claimed the offence contradicts Section 4 of the Firearms Act, Cap F28 Laws of the Federation 2004.

Group advises Tinubu to appoint capable hands as Ministers, aides

The Northern Youths Group For Renewed Hope has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu against appointing sycophants but capable hands as aides and Ministers to prevent his administration from failing.

The group also urged the President to select serious-minded people who have interest of the country’s at heart.

In a statement by its President James Danbaki, the group said:”Not having capable aides or ministers to assist in discharging the necessary responsibilities means that this administration has failed.

“Professor Chris Imumolen, who created an educational platform that has supported lots of young brilliant Nigerians home and abroad is one of the few Africans listed in the World Book of Greatness for his selfish accomplishment in the field of humanity and education.

Police nab fleeing driver with employer’s stolen SUV

The police at the Maroko Division, Lekki of the Lagos State Police Command, Lagos have arrested a driver while allegedly fleeing with his employer’s Lexus 350 SUV.

The vehicle was recovered from him five days after he disappeared with the SUV.

According to police, the incident occurred just four months after the driver, Osinachi Nnaji, aged 30, secured the job.

Police alleged that the incident occurred on 24 February 2023 when the owner of the Lexus Mr. Solomon Oyeka sent Nnaji to go and park the SUV at his residence at Maiye Ogundana Street, Magodo Phase 11, Lagos after dropping him somewhere.

Police further alleged that instead of packing the SUV as directed, Nnaji droved the SUV straight to the Sangotedo Area of Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos to look for a buyer for the vehicle.

Police said that when the complainant waited for two days without seeing the driver and his phone number was not going, he reported the matter to the Divisional Police Officer, DPO in charge of Maroko Division.
