Bashir Ahmad Reacts After Peter Obi Said Sit-At-Home Order In The South-East is A Criminal Activity

The former Special Assistant on Digital Communications to former President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad has reacted after the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the last general elections, Peter Obi condemned the Sit-At-Home order in the South East geopolitical zone of the country.

Peter Obi, who is known for his outspokenness contested and lost the 2023 presidential election to the standard flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Peter Obi, a former Governor of Anambra State in a recent tweet said; “Also disturbing is the continued disruption of business and social activities in the South East region over the Sit-at-Home directive purported to be coming from the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB, when the body has publicly denied issuing such directive. What is going on in the South East therefore is essentially a criminal activity that must be nipped in the bud, with all hands being on deck, security agencies, and the people alike”

Reacting to the tweet, Bashir Ahmad, who is a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress said on his verified Twitter page; “It’s frustrating how Peter Obi, for the innumerable times, publicly shielded and denied the role of IPOB for excessive insecurity in the East. That shouldn’t be a character of an aspiring leader of a complex country like Nigeria.”
