Tinubu Attends Opening Of G-20 Summit In India

President Bola Tinubu is attending the official opening of G-20 Leaders Summit in New Delhi, India.

Tinubu is part of the nine guests invited for the engagement which ends on Sunday, September 10, 2023.

During the the event, the President met with India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi as posted on his Facebook page.

15 Drown As Boat Capsizes In Adamawa

About 15 people, including children, drowned in a boat conveying passengers in a lake after a boat capsized in Adamawa State on Friday evening.

The incident occurred in Njuwa Lake near Dandu village in Yola South Local Government Area when the canoe carrying 23 passengers, including farmers, traders and children, from Rugange village to Yola town capsized.

A powerful earthquake that shook Morocco killed more than 600 people, officials said Saturday, sending terrified residents fleeing their homes in the middle of the night.

The 6.8-magnitude quake struck a mountainous area 72 kilometres (45 miles) southwest of tourist hotspot Marrakesh at 11:11 pm (2211 GMT) Friday, the US Geological Survey reported.

A public affairs commentator, Prof Isaac Albert, on Saturday, advised the country’s leading opposition parties to stop any further challenge of the outcome of the Feb. 25 presidential election.

Albert told the Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ibadan that this would be better and help prevent a further waste of resources at the Supreme Court.
