Tinubu's momentum has dropped – APC chieftain, Lukman

Salihu Lukman, the Vice National Chairman of the APC in the north-west, has asserted that President Tinubu began his official assignment on a good note during the few weeks that he assumed office.

According to the Daily Post, he made this statement during his appearance on Channels Television’s program, Sunrise Daily. He said that the pace at which Buhari started during the first few weeks has reduced up until now.

He explained that Tinubu’s administration is becoming isolated because of his decisions, which are not good for the current challenges facing the country.

Remembering Tinubu’s slogan during the presidential campaign (Renewed Hope), he noted that this should be brought to his attention again because the situation is becoming unbearable for Nigerians.

In his words, “When Tinubu assumed office, many of us became very optimistic that he was addressing the issues affecting us.” “We gave him very high approval”. “However, after a few weeks, the momentum at which he’s handling issues has dropped.”

He needs to return to the type of momentum with which he started because I believe he has a plan for the country. He also expressed that the president may have been carried away by the ministerial nomination process and the caliber of people surrounding him.

Many of us are not happy because this is not the Asiwaju we once knew. However, it is not too late for him to get back on track and achieve his original plan. There should be an opportunity for party leaders to make contributions that they can help because isolated decisions are part of our major challenges.

Lukman had earlier resigned as the Vice chairman of the APC in the north-west, but his resignation letter was rejected by the party.
