Abure's Faction Said 'All Eyes On Judiciary' But They've Refused To Obey Court Judgment – Arabambi

Amid the ongoing national leadership tussle currently rocking the Labour Party ahead of the gubernatorial elections in Imo State, a prominent member of the Lamidi Apapa-led faction of the party, Abayomi Arabambi has accused the group led by Barrister Julius Abure of seeking justice from the same judiciary whose court orders it has refused to obey in Imo State.

Speaking during an interview on ARISE TV’s ‘NEWSDAY’ program on Sunday, August 20, Arabambi insisted that the move being made by the Abure-led faction inaugurate a campaign council for a guber candidate in Imo, was in direct breach of an Appeal Court ruling that has validated the candidate produced by the National Executive Council (NEC) led by Lamidi Apapa.

Going further, Arabambi insisted that other faction of the Labour Party cannot be asking for all eyes to be on be the judiciary as regards the expected outcome of the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal, while still showing contempt for one of its courts.

He said; “They say they want to flag-off Senator Athan’s campaign, knowing fully well that two weeks ago, the Court of Appeal nullified his candidature. Peter Obi, and Abure sent a message to the WhatsApp group that we all belong to saying that they want to inaugurate Athan.

But we sent a message back to them that you people are still in the Election Petition Tribunal, they are saying ‘All Eyes On The Judiciary’ but their faction has refused to obey judgment from the Court of Appeal in Imo. Yet they discontenanced it and said they are going ahead with the flag-off. And yet, they are expecting judgment by saying ‘All Eyes on the Judiciary’. Do you we have two judiciaries in Nigeria?”
