The PDP Has Not Taken Any Action Against Wike – Nwuke Says

Former House of Representatives member Honourable Ogbonna Nwuke has expressed that minister-designate Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has not informed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholders about his intention to leave the party in light of the recent meeting between Dr. Abdulahi Umar Ganduje and Wike.

The Leadership paper reports that Nwuke brought up rumours that Wike is attempting to resign from the PDP during a conversation with reporters in Port Harcourt.

He also discussed the party’s stance on the issue. He disputed the idea that Wike intended to join the All Progressives Congress (APC), pointing out that the two had previously grown close while each was governor of a different state.

Friendships can exist despite political affinities, according to Nwuke. Wike paid a visit to Ganduje in Kano when he was a PDP candidate for president. Wike represents the PDP, while Ganduje is an APC member.

Wike led the PDP team during the Edo election, while Ganduje led the APC team. They are clearly related, and Wike’s visit to Ganduje, who recently assumed the position of APC national chairman, should be interpreted in light of their mutual connections.

Contrary to what some people believe, it does not necessarily imply that Wike is getting ready to switch parties.

Nwuke clarified further, saying, “Regarding Wike’s potential switch from the PDP to the APC, there has been no communication with Rivers State stakeholders.” He emphasised the need for factual information over conjecture.

According to him, “Wike has not expressed any desire to resign, and the PDP has not taken any action against him, despite any differences within the PDP.” To ascertain the true purposes of Wike’s visit, he urged patience and observation.
