Shehu Sani Reacts As Atiku And Obi Insist On Challenging Tribunal Judgment At Supreme Court

In the wake of the ruling handed down by the five-man panel of Appeal Court Justices that presided over the petitions filed by Peter Obi of the Labour Party, and the PDP’s Atiku Abubakar at the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal, civil rights activist, and former Kaduna Lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani has taken to social media to applaud both candidates for choosing to seek redress at the Supreme Court instead of calling for outbreak of violence from their supporters.

Recall that in separate reports posted by The VANGUARD on its verified Twitter handle on Thursday, September 7, Obi and Atiku were each addressing journalists at separate press conferences when they accused the Tribunal Judges of failing to deliver justice, vowing that they would challenge the ruling at the Supreme Court.

Reacting to the reports a tweet posted on his verified Twitter handle on Thursday night, Sani, who is also a chieftain of the PDP, opined that the judgment from the tribunal is not the final verdict, as the Supreme is also the second and final part of the election litigation process.

While stating that the opposition candidates who lost at the Tribunal could still emerge victorious at the Apex Court, Sani, however, applauded them for their respective decisions to continue exploring the legal rout and not calling for widespread violence, as was witnessed back in 2011.
