"South East Didn't Ģive Tinubu More Votes, We Agree But We Deserve Equal Compensation" -Tony Nwoye

Senator Tony Nwoye, a federal lawmaker from Anambra state, has emphasized that the South East deserves fair representation in President Tinubu’s list of ministerial nominees, just like the other geopolitical zones. Appearing in an interview on Channels Television, Senator Tony Nwoye highlighted that even when former President Obasanjo did not receive as many votes from the South West as other zones, he still ensured they received equitable ministerial representation.

In his own words from the Channels Television program, “Yes, the South East may not have given President Tinubu as many votes as the other regions, and we acknowledge that without argument. However, we deserve proportional representation. Recall that when Obasanjo faced a similar situation in the South West, he provided them with fair representation. We understand that some of the ministers appointed from the South East may serve as ministers of state, and we have no qualms with that. Even if we are assigned ministers of state positions across the board, we are content with it because we supported our candidate. Our candidate, Peter Obi, contested and we voted for him, just as the Yorubas voted for their candidate.”
