Since 1999, This Will Be The Largest Number Of Ministerial Nominees We Have Ever Had – Chuks Akunna

Amid the ongoing public uproar that has trailed the second list of ministerial nominees submitted to the 10th National Assembly by the Tinubu administration, veteran journalist, and publisher, Chuks Akunna has knocked the President on the number of persons contained in the document.

Speaking during an interview on Africa Independent Television’s ‘Kaakaki’ program on Thursday, August 3, Akunna, who is the Chief Executive Officer of The Authority paper, questioned the rationale behind the President Tinubu’s decision to have more ministers in his cabinet than every of his predecessors.

According to the veteran journalist, no other administration has had more ministerial nominees since democracy returned to the country in 1999.

He said; “There’s nowhere in the constitution where it is said that you must appoint all the ministers in one day. The law only says that you must appoint all of them in 60 days but Tinubu didn’t do that. Lets even look at the appointments he has made.

Since 1999, this is the largest number of ministerial nominees we have ever had. We need to ask ourselves if we really want to survive as a country.”
