Shetty: It is more likely to be politics that Tinubu include Keyamo's name -Hon West Idahosa (SAN)
Hon. West Idahosa, a senior advocate of Nigeria, said that it is more likely to be politics that President Tinubu include Keyamo’s name in the ministerial list and remove Maryam Shetty.
Hon West made assumption in an interview with Channels TV during the Politics Today program, when Seun Okinbaloye asked him to react to the inclusion of Festus Keyamo’s name as a nominated minister by President Tinubu.
Hon West began by saying that it is within the legal framework for President Tinubu to change name(s) of nominated ministers without explaining the reason to anyone. He said the reason Tinubu removed Maryam Shetty may be because of political pressure or policy tactical change.
“This is all within the power conferred on Mr. President to do”
However about Festus Keyamo, he said Tinubu has a strong character and that he’s a responsive person who is committed to loyalty, excellence and he understands how to get a fine blend of both. He said significantly,
“It is more likely to be politics (that Tinubu includes Keyamo’s name) and the politics of party peers of the president telling him that, let create a situation where some of those who have stocked their neck defending our party’s position publicly do not feel excluded.”
Hon West then said, no one can categorically say whether the nomination of Keyamo is either for special competent reasons or for political reasons.
