Shehu Sani Reacts As Tinubu Asks National Assembly To Approve N500bn For Palliatives

Shehu Sani, a former senator for Kaduna Central has taken to his verified Twitter page to react after President Tinubu ask National Assembly to approve N590 billion for palliative.

It was reported that President Bola Tinubu has asked the national assembly to approve N500 billion to allow the federal government to provide palliatives to cushion the effects of petrol subsidy removal on Nigerians.

While reacting to this report, the outspoken activist, Shehu Sani took to his microblogging, Twitter page, some minutes ago to say before the approval of the N500Billion Presidential request for the palliatives, the National Assembly must request for the item by item breakdown of the figures.

On that note, Shehu Sani added to his statement by asking who was going to be in charge of the money. He also asked which agency of Government will handle the funds and how it’s going to be spent on the people.

However, Shehu Sani concluded his statement by saying the reason he was asking this was for transparency and avoiding the past humanitarian ministry fiasco.

In his tweet, Shehu Sani wrote below:

“Before the approval of the N500Billion Presidential request for the palliatives, the National Assembly needs to demand for the item by item Breakdown of the figures; who is going to be in charge of the money; which agency of Government will handle the funds and how it’s going to be disbursed. This is for transparency and avoiding the past humanitarian ministry fiasco.”
