Shehu Sani Reacts After President Tinubu Declares State of Emergency on Food Security

Shehu Sani, a former senator for Kaduna Central has taken to his verified Twitter page to react after President Tinubu declares a state of emergency on food security.

Recall that it was reported that President Bola Tinubu declared a state of emergency on food security in the country. This comes as the Senate approved Tinubu’s request to amend the 2022 Supplementary Act totaling N819 billion

It was gathered from the report that this was made known by presidential spokesman, Dele Alake while briefing State House correspondent. He said the directive was said to be in line with the Tinubu administration’s position on ensuring that the most vulnerable are helped.

Following the announcement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu amidst the food crisis in the country, the outspoken activist, Shehu Sani took to his microblogging, Twitter page, to air out his view about it.

According to Shehu Sani, he made it known in his statement that no one can have food security in a nation where farmers were slaughtered by terrorists.

Furthermore, Shehu Sani added that no one can have food security in a nation where farming communities were being forced to pay levies to bandits.

However, Shehu Sani concluded his statement by saying the declaration of emergency by President Tinubu on food security exposed the deception about rice pyramids and the futility of closing the land borders.

In his tweet, Shehu Sani wrote below:

“You cannot have food security in a country where farmers are slaughtered by terrorists and farming communities are forced to pay levies to Bandits. The declaration of emergency on food security exposed the deception about those rice pyramids and the futility of closing the land borders.”
