Atiku, PDP Govs, Party Leaders In Abuja For Stakeholders’ Meeting

PDP’s Acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum; the Chairman of the party’s Board of Trustees, Adolphus Wabara; as well as other party stakeholders were present at the meeting.
Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki; and his Bauchi counterpart, Bala Mohammed; were at the meeting.
The agenda of the meeting was not made known to journalists. However, this is the first time since after the general elections that Atiku would be meeting with the PDP governors and other party stalwarts.

Senate To Screen Keyamo, Other Ministerial Nominees Today

The red chamber had previously screened some nominees for confirmation on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.
Those expected to be screened today are Festus Keyamo, Bosun Tijani, Isiak Salako, Lola John, Tahir Mamman, Maigari Ahmadu, and Mariya Mahmoud.
On July 27, 2023, the President transmitted a 28-man list to the red chamber for confirmation. He subsequently sent a supplementary list of 19 nominees to the Senate on August 2, 2023.

In a statement on Friday, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Strategy in the state, Olumide Sogunle, said an inquiry has commenced into the accident.
The investigation panel will submit a report of its initial findings on Saturday, Sogunle said.
He said, “The panel also invited a lift expert to the accident scene to look at the lift and give a preliminary opinion. Other experts would now take the elevator out for a thorough mechanical and electrical examination.
“As part of the panel’s activities from the first day when they interviewed the lift installer, they handed him over to the Police for questioning and further interrogation. This is to ensure that the installer will always be available if the panel needs him for further questions.
Adeleke Supports Oyetola’s Ministerial Nomination, Says PDP Senator

Oyewumi, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) representing Osun West Senatorial District in the 10th National Assembly, made this known on Friday when Oyetola, an All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart, appeared before the Senate for ministerial screening.
After Oyetola’s introductory comments on the floor of the Senate, Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, yielded the floor to the lawmaker representing Osun East Senatorial District, Francis Fadahunsi. Fadahunsi, also a member of the PDP like Oyewumi, spoke highly of Oyetola, saying he is the best man for the job.
