Reno Omokri reacts as Doyin Okupe back Tinubu's move against Niger Republic

Reno Omokri, lawyer and social media personality, reacted as Doyin Okupe back President Tinubu’s move against Niger Republic.

Reno reacted with a tweet he recently released on his official Twitter account.

Niger is under the military government as military personnel topped Bazoum, who was democratically elected on July 26th, 2023. President Tinubu also the chairman of ECOWAS after meeting with some fellow ECOWAS leaders last Sunday, decry the coup and gave an order of 7 days ultimatum to restore democracy to Niger.

President Tinubu has now written to the Senate to seek support in a bid to restore democracy in Niger and sanction the country if they fault doing right thing at the expiration of 7 days ultimatum.

Doyin Okupe, former DG of Obi-Datti campaign, backed the decision of President Tinubu with a tweet he wrote,

“I am not suggesting we go to war with Niger. But Niger cannot rubbish Nigeria. I as a patriot will not take that. We should not be quiet because of internal differences and allow this to happen. Presidents are not permanent. We must all protect that seat else it’s not worth fighting for.”

Reno Omokri who may have read Doyin Okupe’s tweet, wrote.(in part)

“I am very impressed that a prominent Obidient, like Doyin Okupe can come out openly against the mainstream opinion of his movement and call for unity behind Nigeria’s president for the purpose of defending any threats to Nigeria and the defence of democracy in Niger republic.

“Perhaps Peter Obi will himself be patriotic rather than partisan and publicly condemn. Those in his movement who are abusing their freedom of speech by openly calling for a military coup in Nigeria and trying to undermine our government by supporting the action of the putschists.
