Subsidy Removal: Shehu Sani Reacts As FG Approves Distribution Of 5bn As Palliatives For Each State

A few hours ago, civil rights activist, and former Kaduna lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani took to social media to task Governors on ensuring there is equity in the distribution of the five billion Naira palliative approved by the Bola Tinubu administration.

Recall that a report from Channels Television on Thursday indicated that the Federal Government has allocated the sum of 5 billion Naira for Governors to distribute in their respective states as palliatives to ameliorate the harsh economic situation due to the removal of petroleum subsidies in the country.

Taking to his verified Twitter handle to react to the report, Sani insisted that the governors must not focus on party loyalists while overlooking those who supported other political candidates in the just-concluded general elections.

He wrote; “five billion as palliatives to the states; There are people who voted for the Governors. There are people who voted for other candidates. Equity demands that the latter be treated equally.”
