Reactions Trail Tanko Yunusa's Remarks After Obi Consoled Victims Of Collapsed Mosque In Zaria

A few hours ago, reactions began trailing a social media post made by prominent northern politician, and Labour Party chieftain, Dr. Yunusa Tanko in response to a tweet put up by his party’s presidential flag bearer, Peter Gregory consoling victims of a mosque that collapsed in Zaria, Kaduna State.

For those who are not aware, Obi, on Friday, August 11, had taken to his verified Twitter handle to express sadness on the reported death and injury sustained by worshippers when a mosque collapsed on them during a Jumat service in Zaria. While praying for Allah to grant forgiveness to the souls of the deceased persons, the former Anambra Governor wished speedy recovery for those who were injured.

In response to Obi’s tweet, Dr. Tanko, who was a spokesman for the defunct Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council, lauded the former Anambra Governor for his empathy and lack of religious bias toward Nigerians.

Check out his remarks below:

Quite interestingly, Tanko’s remarks have drawn a flurry of reactions from a cross-section of Nigerians online, with many trooping to the comments section to share their thoughts.

While some persons concurred with his assertions on Obi’s character, others, lamented the unfortunate loss of lives.
