Presidential Election Petitions Court Debunks Rumours That It Has Fixed September 16 For Judgement

The nation is eagerly anticipating the results of the petitions filed by Atiku Abubakar from the PDP and Peter Obi from the Labour Party, who are challenging the victory of Bola Ahmed Tinubu from the APC in the February 25 elections. However, the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal (PEPT) has denied the claims that it has scheduled September 16 as the date for delivering judgments on these cases.

On Monday, Sahara Reporters shared a report on its verified Twitter account stating that Barrister Josephine J. Ekperobe, the Secretary of the PEPT panel, refuted the rumor during an interview with a journalist from another media organization.

In a brief reply to the inquiry about whether the five-member panel of Appeal Court Justices has scheduled September 16 as the day to announce decisions on the petitions filed by the PDP and Labour Party against the APC and its candidate, Ekperobe firmly stated that the court has not yet determined a date for the cases presented to it.
