President Tinubu Writes Senate To Withdraw Ministerial Nomination Of Maryam Shetty, nominates Keyamo

The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has written the Senate to withdraw the ministerial nomination of Mrs Maryam Shetty, and the President has also nominated former Minister of State Labour and Employment, Mr Festus Keyamo. Senate President Godswill Akpabio announced this on Friday while reading a letter by the President at the plenary session.

President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu submitted the names of the first batch of the ministerial nominees to the Senate last week, and he also sent another batch on Wednesday.

The screening have started since last week, and a lot of the nominees have been screened by the Senators.

The first batch of the ministerial nominees consists of 27 people, and they have all been screened, while the second batch of ministerial nominees have also started screening on Thursday.

Mrs Maryam Shetty is an All Progressives Congress’ member from Kano State, and she was nominated for ministerial position by President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, following her role in the last general election.

It was reported that Mrs Maryam Shetty arrived at the Senate house on Friday morning, before Senator Godswill Akpabio announced that President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has withdrawn her nomination, and she has been replaced by another person.

Mr Festus Keyamo was Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s campaign spokesperson, and his name was not in the previous lists, but he has now been nominated, and he is expected to be screened by the Senators.
