President Bola Tinubu Receives United States Secretary Of State For Africa In Abuja

Reports indicate that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu met with U.S. Secretary of State for African Affairs Mary Catherine “Molly” Phee today in Abuja.

Mr. Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media & Publicity, reportedly made this announcement on Saturday, as reported by Punch paper.

President Tinubu allegedly told Molly Phee during their discussion that the United States should make its policy deliberately collaborative with independent African democracies at a time when these democracies are under attack from anti-democratic elements both inside and outside of Africa.

It was also theorised that the recent coup d’etat in Niger Republic was a major factor in the decision to hold the gathering.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken was recently on record as thanking President Tinubu and ECOWAS for their efforts to restore democracy in Niger Republic. This comes after Blinken revealed a few weeks ago that he had spoken with Tinubu by phone.
