25% FCT: Tinubu did not have 25%, Atiku did not have 25%; Only Peter Obi had 25% in Abuja- Dele Momodu

Nigerian journalist and PDP leader Dele Momodu reportedly claimed that neither Bola Tinubu nor Atiku Abubakar enjoyed the support of 25% of Abuja’s voters, with Peter Obi being the only candidate to do so.

In a podcast conversation with Seun Okinbaloye, Dele Momodu made this assertion. Seun questioned Dele Momodu on whether or not he believed it was necessary to receive at least 25% of the vote in the FCT in order to be elected president of Nigeria.

Dele Momodu thinks there is no room for argument. He mentioned the 25% mandate in Abuja as an illustration. He vowed that if it were not absolutely necessary, the constitution would not single out Abuja.

My language and grammar skills are sufficient, as I have a Master of Arts in English Literature. While the constitution does mandate that Abuja have its own senator, neither Tinubu nor Atiku achieved the required 25% of the vote in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), causing a deadlock. If Peter Obi can prove that he won at least 25% of the vote in more states than the other two contenders combined, he will be considered the winner.
