Picking Of Ministers Is Not Patronage Of Politicians, Those Who Backed You During Election – Sowunmi

Segun Sowunmi, a former Governorship candidate in Ogun State has come out to say that Nigeria is at the moment where the cost of governance must be reduced, given the state of the economy of the country.

According to Sowunmi who appeared in an interview on Arise TV today, picking 45 ministers at this point in time is unnecessary and this shows that in Nigeria, it’s not yet accepted that picking minister shouldn’t be a way to compensate those who supported you ahead of an election.

In his own words as seen on Arise TV today…

“We have not accepted that picking of ministers is not patronage of politicians or those who supported you during election. There was a time when such a behaviour could be tolerated, this isn’t such a time as you can clearly tell that everyone in the country is struggling. It’s too expensive, we are not at that stage now. We need all the trimming and the ‘tighting’ of belt everywhere and you can’t do things this way and expect to inspire your governors to take a simpler approach.”
