"Peter Obi Failed To Provide Reliable Evidence To Support His Case, If Not, He Won" – INEC Speaks

According to Arise Television, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has stated that Peter Obi, the Labor Party presidential candidate in the last general election, was unable to prove that he had secured the majority of votes in the poll.

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the former Lagos state governor and national leader of the All-Progressive Congress, emerged as the winner, defeating other strong candidates, including Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria party, as per data from the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the leader of the Labor Party and the People’s Democratic Party, is currently contesting Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s victory at the Presidential Electoral Court in Abuja.

A few weeks ago, the Presidential Electoral Court held hearings for the cases brought forward by the parties.

According to the Premium Times newspaper, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has argued that the petition from Labor Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, “lacks merit.” INEC’s lead lawyer, Abubakar Mahmoud, stated during the closing speech that Mr. Obi failed to provide credible evidence to support his claim of winning the election.
