PEPT: I Couldn't sleep due to excitement of the victory, I wanted to see if my job was secured – Tinubu

In response to the judgment by the five-man panel of Appeal Court Justices at the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal (PEPT), All Progressives Congress (APC) flag bearer, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has shared his experience upon hearing the news of his victory while he was in India.

According to a report from ARISE NEWS shared on their verified Twitter handle, Tinubu apologized for arriving late at a previously scheduled meeting on September 7. During this apology, he disclosed that the news of his victory in court had left him so excited that he couldn’t sleep the night before.

Tinubu explained that he had closely followed the court proceedings on that day to ascertain the security of his position as Nigeria’s President. The victory in court brought about a sense of relief and happiness for him, resulting in a sleepless night.

He said, “I was waiting anxiously to see if my job was secured or not. So, from that, out of excitement of the victory, I couldn’t sleep. So, it was a very challenging day after; that was a hangover that I enjoyed and I hope we all appreciate why we are starting late. Please forgive us.”
