Okonjo-Iweala Reacts To The Alleged Report That She Is Being Attacked For Visiting President Tinubu.

The former minister of finance and the Director General of the World Trade Organisation, WTO, Dr Mrs Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has reacted to the alleged report that she is being attacked by some Nigerians for visiting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Aso Rock.

While reacting, Dr Mrs Okonjo-Iweala made it known that it has been brought to her attention that there is a false statement circulating on WhatsApp, attributed to her saying that she is being attacked for her visit to President Bola Tinubu. She went on and described the report as false story designed to create mischief among Nigerians, thereby urging all well meaning Nigerians to disregard the report.

Dr Mrs Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala made this disclosure in a tweet she made on her verified twitter handle on Wednesday evening. She wrote: “It has been brought to my attention that there is a false statement circulating on what’s app attributed to me saying that I am being attacked for my visit to President Tinubu. That statement circulating is false, infact wickedly false designed to create mischief among Nigerians. Please disregard the statement.”

It should be recalled that the DG of World Trade Organisation, WTO, Dr Mrs Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, yesterday visited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and shortly after her visit to the President, some Nigerians on social media platforms started attacking and criticising her for visiting President Tinubu. The reason for the criticisms could be attributed to the way the 2023 presidential election was conducted and how President Tinubu came to power.
