No Matter The Challenges, PDP Will Still Remain A Political Party Of Repute In Nigeria- Kola Ologbondiyan

In the wake of the internal crisis that threatened the unity of the Peoples Democratic Party in the run-up to the 2023 general elections, a prominent chieftain of the PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan has come out to express confidence on the party’s strength in the Nigerian political space regardless of whatever it goes through.

Speaking during an interview on Channels TV’s ‘Political Paradigm’ program on Tuesday, August 29, Ologbondiyan, who was a spokesman for the Atiku-Okowa Campaign Council, revealed that serious efforts are being made by the PDP’s National Working Committee (NWC) to ensure the unity of the party in the event that the ongoing Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal (PEPT) decides to order a rerun of February 25 polls.

Going further, the PDP chieftain went on to insist that come what may, his party will remain a force to reckon with in the country’s political landscape.

He said; “I strongly believe that as we speak now, the hierarchy of the party led by Ambassador Damagung, should be working towards the unity of the party. That is the only option that is available to them. And I believe that they must be doing so, one, for the purpose of a possible outcome that will be favorable to the party, and even beyond the tribunal.

I think we need that unity. I am one of the people who has consistently canvassed for reconciliation and unity in the party. Based on my understanding of the party, I am confident that the PDP – no matter what the challenges are today, will still remain a political party of repute in Nigeria.”
