No matter how political elites are ruining our economy, military regime Isn't an option- Uwagiaren

Iyobosa Uwagiaren, editor, nation’s capital, Thisday, said that no matter how political elites are ruining our economy, military regime is not an option.

Iyobosa Uwagieren, made the statement in an interview with AIT during the Kakaaki program when he was reacting to ECOWAS and Niger issues, and some people saying that Nigeria has no business with Niger.

Iyobosa Uwagiaren said having considered several arguments on why Tinubu should not encourage military sanctions against Niger military junta, he said we should not forget one thing that, the issue against Niger military junta is not about Tinubu even though he’s the chairman of ECOWAS.

“It’s the resolution of the ECOWAS. Yesterday even ECOWAS also issued a statement that there was a delegation sent to the military junta in Niger Republic led by the UN, AU, ECOWAS…”

Iyobosa said we must get it right, military coup or regime is no longer fashionable around the world, and we must discourage it. He said he agreed that because of bad governance and all around Africa, people tend to be disenchanted with civilian government. He said that is not an excuse for military intervention. He said therefore they must do everything against the military juntas in Niger.

“We should send a message to everybody in the Africa region that military regime is no longer fashionable. Don’t forget Nigeria is like head of ECOWAS, we must also send a message to our military that no matter the way political elites see ruining our economy, military regime is not an option.
