‘Man To Man Is So Unjust’, El-Rufai Drops Cryptic Tweet With Bob Marley’s Lyrics

Former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, on Sunday, posted a cryptic message on social media weeks after his ministerial nomination was not confirmed by the Senate.

Channels TV report that, In a message on X, formerly known as Twitter, the ex-governor dropped lyrics of ‘Who The Cap Fit’ by the late Jamaican singer, Bob Marley.

El-Rufai said, “Bob Marley of blessed memory is one of most talented musicians of all time. My love for reggae music is connected with his songs and music.”

The ex-governor thereafter posted lyrics of the song:

El-Rufai was one of the 48 nominees for ministers that President Bola Tinubu forwarded to the Senate for approval.

The approval of El-Rufai and two other presidential appointees was delayed by “security clearance” in the Senate, which authorised and confirmed the nominations of 45 presidential nominees for ministerial positions.

El-Rufai, one of the nine former governors on the President’s list of ministers, was one of the candidates the Senate screened on Tuesday, August 1, 2023. He served as governor of Kaduna for two terms, from May 2015 to May 2023.

Senator Karimi Sunday from the Kogi West Senatorial District submitted a “very strong petition” against the former governor of Kaduna during El-Rufai’s screening on the Senate floor that complained about insecurity, unity, and national cohesion.

“But I have a very strong petition against you that bothers on security, unity, and cohesiveness of the Nigerian nation,” said Sunday, who had praised El-Rufai’s performance in those roles as governor of Kaduna and minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) some 20 years prior.

El-Rufai was, however, stopped from responding to the petition by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

After the Senate rejected his confirmation, El-Rufai was reportedly spotted at the Villa. He allegedly also decided against applying to be a minister in the Tinubu administration.

The 45 minister-designates were given their portfolio assignments by the President last week, and Kaduna State was given the position of environment and ecological management minister.
