Tribunal: Obi's Petitions Will Be Decided First – The Presidential Election Petition Court Reveals

As the judgement of the Petitions against INEC and All Progressive Party with their Presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu is ongoing, The Tribune has revealed that they will decide on Peter Obi’s Petitions first before others.

This event was reported on the Social media by Vanguard broadcasting platform, they made this known on their Twitter page on Wednesday 6th of September 2023.

According to them, they revealed that The Presidential Election Petition Court, PEPC, sitting in Abuja, has made it known that its first judgement will be on the petition the Labour Party, LP, and its candidate, Peter Obi, filed to challenge President Bola Tinubu’s election.

The Justice Haruna Tsammani-led five member panel of the court and they commenced sitting around 9:30am.

The panel, which is currently taking appearances of lawyers representing all the parties, said it would skip some of the arguments that were made during the hearing stage and concentrate more on the concluding part of the judgement.

Shortly after Obi’s case was called up, the panel also gave the registrar the nod to call the petition that was filed by the Allied Peoples Movement, APM.

The Judgement is ongoing as the court is set to decide the final date of the 2023 Presidential election.

We should recall that the election result saw the emergence of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the President was rejected by some opposite. They proceeded to challenge the Results at the Law Court.

The President Election Petition Court fixed Wednesday, 6th of September 2023 as the Judgement day.
