Niger Junta: I’m Not Suggesting We Go To War With Niger But Niger Cannot Rubbish Nigeria -Okupe

It can be recalled that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has dispatched a delegation to Niger Republic with a mandate to expeditiously resolve the current political impasse in the country. The delegation is led by former Nigerian military head of state Abdulsalami Abubakar who, according to the statement, left Abuja for Niamey after a meeting with Mr Tinubu. However, after the meeting proved to be unfruitful and Niger cutting off ties with the ECOWAS, including Nigeria, president Bola Ahmed Tinubu has written to the senate, demanding military intervention in Niger State.

Reacting to this, Doyin Okupe released a statement his twitter handle where he supported this move by the President. He noted a number period of national conflict like these, all Nigerians & political leaders must unite and collectively rise in defence of our Sovereign state. He said;

“I am not suggesting we go to war wt Niger. But Niger cannot rubbish Nigeria. I as a patriot will not take that. We shld not be quiet cos of internal differences & allow this to happen. Presidents are not permanent. We must all protect that seat else it’s not worth fighting for”.What do you have to say about this?
