Turkey-based Nigerian comedian, Wemimo Iyiola Samson, also known as Linomrlion, has revealed that his father motivated him to pursue a career in comedy.
The Turkish comedian claimed that his late father, who was well renowned for his good humor, had a significant influence on his decision to pursue comedy.
Speaking in an interview, the father of two said: “Right from my younger age, I love comedy. May be because my dad of blessed memory was well known for that. They called him Baba Alawada in his days.”
Touching on the power of comedy as it affects human lives, Lino added: “Being in Turkey is an eye-opener for me and seeing the good efforts put in by comedians to drag people out of depression was my main motivation to delve into comedy. I started putting my comedy ideas into recording.”
The Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (Mapoly) Mass Communication graduate worked briefly in the music industry.
When he was in college, Lino tried his hand at music under the alias “Wemskills” and released the single “Sweet Lady,” which was well-liked on campus.
