Justice Mary Odili Reacts To Allegations That She Is Negotiating Pathway For Tinubu At The Tribunal

In response to claims that she is arranging a road for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal meeting in Abuja, Mary Peter-Odili, a former justice of the Supreme Court, has responded.

Remember that, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos State and national leader of the All Progressives Congress, defeated other top candidates to win the top political position in the nation, including Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party and Peter Obi of the Labour Party.

The victory of Bola Ahmed Tinubu is now being contested at the Presidential Election Tribunal in Abuja by the presidential candidates of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, and the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. Nigerians are now anticipating the court’s decision after the justices have heard all of the petitions.

According to The Nation paper, Justice Mary Odili described the claims made by online publisher Jackson Ude as “false, malicious, mischievous and a deliberate attempt at smearing her integrity and solid reputation.”

“While the defamation arising from the false allegation has been referred to the lawyers of her lordship to deal with in accordance with the law,” she said, “we consider it appropriate, particularly for the sake of the public, to issue this unequivocal denial of the false allegation.”

“We deny every allegation contained in the publication,” she said, “and declare that it is false, malicious, mischievous, and a deliberate attempt at smearing the integrity and solid reputation of her lordship.”
