For Adamu To Tell Nigerians That Lawan Was Party's Candidate Was To Say He Pocketed The Party – Hilliard Etta

The Former APC Acting National Secretary, Mr Hilliard Etta, has noted that for the immediate past National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, to have come out to tell Nigerians that Ahmed Lawan was the consensus candidate of the APC, was to say that he has pocketed the party.

Speaking further, Mr Etta noted that the National Chairman, Adamu who was supposed to be an umpire during the party’s presidential primaries shouldn’t have done what he did during the APC primaries, because that is not the role of a national chairman.

The APC Chieftain made this disclosure when he was being interviewed on Arise Television on Monday afternoon, as he was reacting to the resignation of the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu.

He said: “For him (Abdullahi Adamu) to have come out unilaterally without the support of the National Working Committee to tell Nigerians that Senator Lawan was the consensus candidate of the party was to say that he has pocketed the party.”

Furthermore, he noted that the National Chairman of the suppose to be the one to direct the affairs of the party, and not to act as a dictator or act like someone that should pocket the party as if the party is his personal property.

In addition, Mr Etta noted that the APC is peaceful, stating it clearly that there is no misunderstanding or conflict within the party. Be it as it may, Nigerians are patiently waiting to see how it will all end.
