The Arewa Youths Consultative Forum (AYCF) has warned the Senate against not confirming Former Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir ElRufai as a Minister under the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led administration.
According to DAILY POST NEWS, this was made known in a statement released recently by Mr. Yerima Shettima, the President of the Forum who emphasized that the Senate was trying to be unjust to the Northern region by not confirming ElRufai.
In summary, he said: ” We consider it deceptive for the Senate to give security checks as reason for not confirming ElRufai because it is common knowledge that the ministerial nomination list passed through security scrutiny before getting to the Senate. It would therefore amount to unwarranted provocation to Kaduna State, to the North and to the Nigerian youth for El-Rufai not to be confirmed for flimsy considerations “.
Recall that President Tinubu had earlier submitted his list of ministerial nominees to the Senate for screening.
