Hannatu Musawa: Frankly, I Don't think she has broken any law-Adeluola (SAN)

Kayode Adeluola, a senior advocate of Nigeria, said that about the NYSC controversy of Hannatu Musawa, minister for Arts and Culture, frankly, he does not think she has broken any law of Nigeria.

Kayode Adeluola made the statement in an interview with Channels Television during the Sunday Politics program, when he was asked to react to Hannatu Musawa’s NYSC controversy, and her statement that she has not broken any law of Nigeria being a serving corp member, and an appointed minister because NYSC or degree is not the requirement for being a minister of federal republic of Nigeria.

Kayode Adeluola (SAN) reacted,

“Frankly, I do not think she(Hannatu Musawa) has broken any law, because what the NYSC scheme said is that you cannot have employment while serving, and that is why I’m asking, is being a minister an employment? “

He was interrupted that doesn’t he think ministerial appointment is employment?

Kayode Adeluola responded that in his opinion, he does not think ministerial appointment is employment. He said ministerial appointment is a service, wherefore ministers are expected to be seen to be truly serving. He said so Hannatu has not broken any law, however, the NYSC can call her employer to withdraw her appointment, or we should challenge the House of Assembly that determines whether she is fit as minister or not.
