Ministerial list: Tinubu allots portfolios to cabinet nominees

President Bola Tinubu, has allocated portfolios to his ministerial nominees. 

The list was announced to journalists by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale.

According to Ngelale, Tinubu appointed Mr. Wale Edun as the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, while Bunmi Tunji is the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy.

The Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, is Bosun Tijani while Ishak Salako was appointed as the Minister of State, Environment and Ecological Management,

The immediate past governors of Rivers and Ebonyi states, Nyesom Wike and Dave Umahi were appointed as ministers of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, and Minister of Works, respectively.

Kwankwaso Meets Atiku In Abuja

Two leading opposition figures in the country, former Vice president Atiku Abubakar and a former Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, recently held a meeting in Abuja.

The meeting took place at the residence of the former Governor and leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) late Tuesday.

Kwankwaso confirmed the meeting on his Facebook page, saying that “I was pleased to receive my brother, the former Vice President, His Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, at my residence this evening. I thank Waziri for this fraternal visit. – RMK.”

Though details of the meeting are yet to be known as those close to the two leaders have kept sealed lips, Daily Trust gathered that the meeting might not be unconnected with the political situation in the country and recent developments.

Land allocation: Imo Committee Indicts Okorocha

A former Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, was on Tuesday indicted by the committee set up by the Imo State Government for the recovery of land belonging to the Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education, Owerri.

The committee said Okorocha used brute force to dispose the college of its land.

In the report signed by the chairman, Prof Vitalis Orikeze Ajumbe, and the secretary, B F Anyanwu, and submitted to Governor Hope Uzodimma, the committee recommended the recovery of the Shell Camp land from Okorocha and his associates within six months and hand the same over to the institution.

NDLEA Seizes N56.9m Worth Of Illicit Drugs In FCT, Arrests 343 Suspects

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, FCT Command, said it intercepted about 3,091.032 kilogrammes of suspected illicit drugs with a monetary value of over N56.9 million between January till date.

Mr Kabir Tsakuwa, FCT Commandant of the agency disclosed this in an interview with the Agency of Nigeria on Wednesday in Abuja.

Tsakuwa said that the illicit drugs seized included suspected cannabis sativa, cocaine, Methamphetamine, Heroin, Tramadol, Rohypnol, Diazepam, Ecstasy, and Megadon.
