Makinde, Fubara Missing As Atiku, Fintiri, Mohammed, Others Arrive For PDP Stakeholders’ Meeting

For the party’s stakeholders meeting, a few chieftains and prominent leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have come to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). According to Punch , the important meeting is taking place at the Governor of Bauchi State’s lodge in Asokoro, Abuja.

Atiku Abubakar, a candidate for president in 2023, is among the PDP chieftains who have arrived for the meeting. Others include Bala Mohammed, chairman of the PDP Governors Forum and governor of Bauchi, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa, Godwin Obaseki of Edo, Douye Diri of Bayelsa, Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta, Ademola Adeleke of Osun, and Kefas Agbu of Taraba.

The gathering follows a related one that took place a fortnight earlier at the home of the late Tom Ikimi, minister of foreign affairs, in Abuja.

There will likely be representatives from the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT), members of the National Assembly Caucus, and members of the National Working Committee (NWC) at the meeting. Oyo State’s Seyi Makinde and his Rivers counterpart, Siminalayi Fubara, weren’t present at the meeting, though.

The Governor is still playing the loyalty card to his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, a party source informed The Punch, despite the fact that Fubara’s absence went unannounced.

The party leader claimed that the governor skipped the meeting because Wike encouraged him not to take on the party’s financial obligations.
