Africa Cannot Attain Integration While People Suffer – Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu on Sunday said Africa cannot attain integration and prosperity while Africans languish in pain and anguish.

The President, in his maiden address at the Fifth Mid-Year Coordination Meeting (5thMYCM) of the African Union (AU) in Kenya, reaffirmed Africa’s unity and strength, while strongly rejecting the notion of a new scramble for the continent.

Tinubu warned that plundering and exploitation of the continent should remain in the past and never be repeated.

Betty Akeredolu Mocks Late Aide

The wife of Ondo State Governor, Betty Akeredolu has mocked her late female aide, Princess Ronke Adeyemi. 

Adeyemi popularly known as Olukonga was until her death a Special Assistant to the Governor attached to the the office of the First Lady. 

She was said to have died after a leg injury.

Olubadan Suspends Egungun Festival

On Sunday, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun, directed the suspension of the ongoing Egungun festival over reported cases of violence, arson and looting of shops.

A statement issued on Sunday in Ibadan by the Olubadan’s Personal Assistant on Media, Mr Oladele Ogunsola, said the atrocities were perpetrated by some hoodlums hiding under the cover of the Egungun festival in Ibadan.

Gov Zulum In Shock After Midnight Visit To Gwoza Hospital

The Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, expressed dismay on Saturday over the lack of electricity and other poor situations at the General Hospital in Gwoza town.

The governor, who was on a one-day working visit to Gwoza town, paid a surprise visit to the hospital at midnight on Saturday.

Zulum, who expressed disappointment at what he saw after inspecting several sections of the hospital, lamented that nobody brought the situation to his attention.
