BAT Is looking for legitimacy which is why he is doing the bidding of the Western world–Usman Yusuf

Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and President of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has reportedly chosen a military approach to restore democracy in Niger following a recent military coup. This approach has garnered attention.

In response to this development, Prof Usman Yusuf, the Former Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme, shared his views with Punch paper. He claimed that Tinubu’s actions align with a script set by the Western world.

Prof Yusuf suggested that Tinubu’s motivation could be related to his ongoing legal battles at the tribunal, where he may be seeking legitimacy. He expressed his belief that Nigeria has no reason to involve itself in war and emphasized the country’s financial challenges, including borrowing to pay salaries.

In his words, “Nigeria is broke; we are borrowing to pay salaries. Who is going to fund all that? President Tinubu is looking for legitimacy which is why he is doing the bidding of the Western world. It is unnecessary. How can you fight with your neighbour and expect to live in peace?”
