South West is not Biafra Republic, stay away: Gani Adams warns Simon Ekpa

The Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Gani Adams has warned the self-styled ‘Prime Minister of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB)” Simon Ekpa to stop its plans to stage a sit-at-home in Lagos or South-West.

A sit-at-home protest is currently being enforced in the South-East region of the country to press the Nigerian government to release the IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, from detention.

Adams in a telephone interview with the Tribune, however, cautioned Ekpa or any accomplice against contemplating such a move or attempt to impose Biafran agenda on Lagos or any other part of the South-West.

President Tinubu Vows To Protect Benin Artefacts, Build Museum For Safe Custody.

President Bola Tinubu on Friday vowed to protect Benin artefacts which were returned to the country from different parts of the world as a way of archiving the history of the people.

Speaking when he received the Oba of Benin, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo Ewuare II, and other traditional leaders from Edo State, the President assured them that his administration would support the Benin Royal Council in its bid to establish a museum that would house the artefacts.

The President congratulated the Benin monarch for the retrieval of the stolen artefacts, commending his effort in ensuring that a befitting museum is built to archive the rich history and traditions of the Benin Kingdom.

President Tinubu in a statement by Dele Alake, his Special Adviser on Special Duties, communications and Strategy, was quoted as saying, “It deserves our protection. We are glad to have them back, and we are glad you are happy. They are in protective custody. It is a matter of history, over a hundred years. We will work on the museum.

Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of Labour Party, has debunked reports claiming he hinted at becoming Nigeria’s president in 2027.

Obi, who is still in court to challenge the result of the 2023 election that produced Bola Tinubu as president, labelled the reports fake.

He noted that he also did not comment on the prospective appointees into the Federal Government.

Speaking on Saturday, Mr. Obi said: “I have noticed with dismay, an emerging pattern where fake media reports and news items are predicated on interviews and press remarks I never granted. Two recent instances relate to my saying that I am looking forward to running for office in 2027 on a supposed Arise TV interview that never took place.

It’s Unconstitutional To Give Largest Share To Lagos – Kano State Faults President Tinubu Over Distribution Of N500billion Palliatives.

The Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir has faulted the mode that the President Bola Tinubu-led federal government adopted for the distribution of N500billion palliatives for small scale industries.The Nigerian government had announced that it would be using the Bank of Industry to support small-scale industries across geopolitical zones.

Speaking through his deputy, Aminu Abdussalam, the governor during a meeting with representatives from the Kano cooperative Society at the state government house said the distribution was heavily skewed in favour of Lagos State and the South-South zone to the disadvantage of other states and zones, Daily Trust reports.

He said the distribution mode would see Lagos receiving 47% of the allocation, followed by the South-South Zone with 17%, and other regions receiving significantly lower percentages.
