Adamu Saying What Was Done At National Assembly Was A Rumour To Him Is To Say The Least Mischievous – Hilliard Etta

Hilliard Etta strongly disagreed with Abdullahi Adamu’s assertion that he was unaware of the events at the National Assembly, emphasizing the importance of a unified party that aligns with Tinubu’s vision for Nigeria’s development. Additionally, Etta criticized Adamu for dismissing the events as rumors despite having direct access to key political figures.

Hilliard Etta, the former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), criticized Abdullahi Adamu’s dismissal of the events at the National Assembly as mere rumors, calling it “mischievous” at the very least. Etta expressed his views during an interview on the day program by Arise , where he was asked to comment on Adamu’s denial of knowledge about the selection of principal officers in the Senate and House of Representatives, and his claim of being left out of the process, which some believed would be the final straw for him.

In response, Hilliard Etta recalled his previous appearance on the program, where he had suggested that the President should pay attention to the APC’s affairs because the current National Working Committee (NWC) did not align with his vision. Etta clarified that when he mentioned “this particular NWC is not his NWC,” people could interpret it differently. However, he emphasized that if the party is to contribute to the development of Nigeria as desired by Tinubu, it must be a united front and not a source of distraction.

Etta further criticized Adamu’s statement by pointing out that as the national chairman, he had direct access to both the President and the Senate President. Therefore, for Adamu to dismiss the happenings at the National Assembly as rumors was highly misleading and deceptive, given his privileged position and access to information.
