So Tinubu is Going to Provide Palliative of N53 Per Day for 6 Months?- Omoyele Sowore Asks.

Omoyele Sowore, a former presidential candidate and Nigerian activist, has taken to Twitter to express his reaction to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s announcement of providing a palliative of 8,000 Naira to 12 million Nigerians over a period of six months. Tinubu’s administration plans to secure an $800 million loan from the World Bank for this purpose. Sowore shared his thoughts on the matter, highlighting the meagerness of the amount being offered.

President Tinubu recently sought approval from the Nigerian Senate for the palliative loan, stating that it aims to enhance safety net programs for vulnerable Nigerians by meeting their basic needs. The proposed plan involves providing 8,000 Naira to 12 million low-income households for a duration of six months.

However, Sowore questioned the adequacy of the amount, expressing his disbelief that the government would provide a mere 53 Naira per day as a palliative for such a period. He criticized the government’s approach, suggesting that they do not value the Nigerian people.

Sowore’s reaction to Tinubu’s borrowing plans reflects his dissatisfaction with the proposed palliative amount. The discussion surrounding the appropriateness and impact of such initiatives continues, with some individuals, like Sowore, expressing their concerns about the limited support being offered to Nigerians in need.
