"What We Want Is Simple, Do To Us What Has Happened To The Other Parts Of Nigeria" – Tony Nwoye

Senator Tony Nwoye, a federal lawmaker from Anambra state has come out to reveal that the contingent of Senators from the South East geopolitical zone are unhappy with the number of ministerial nominees picked by President Tinubu for his administration.

According to Sen. Nwoye who appeared in an interview on Channels television tonight, the South East has the least number of ministerial nominees by a decent margin and all the Senators from the region are advocating for is to be given the same number of slots as the other parts of Nigeria.

In his own words as seen on Channels television tonight…

“What we want is simple, we are saying that let the President do to us what has happened to the other parts of the country. I am not a tribalist, I believe in Nigeria and I have friends outside Igbo land than in Igbo land. But what we are saying is simple, from 1999 when President Obasanjo because president, he appointed ministers from all the geopolitical zones. Even in 2019, after President Bihari appointed 1 minister from every state, he still went ahead to give every geopolitical zone an extra 1. Section 14, sub section 3 of the 1999 constitution states that in doing anything appointment, it must be done in a way to promote national unity, command loyalty and no ethnic group must be favoured.”
