"It Is Our Tradition In Benue State For Past Governors To Leave With Their Vehicles" – Ortom's Aide

Africa Independent Television (AIT) recently granted Terver Akase, the media aide to former governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state, an interview about his principal’s vehicles recovered by the Governor Alia’s assets Recovery Committee.

Terver Akase said, “there is nothing special in what former governor Samuel Ortom has done because it is our tradition in Benue state for past governors to leave with their official vehicles.”

Speaking further, former governor Samuel Ortom’s aide said, “what the current state government has done is an evidence of what people are saying about the poor starting they have. A responsible Government will hit the ground running by delivering the dividends of democracy they promised while campaigning but now, they are doing the opposite. They are deliberately doing this to witch-hunt former governor Samuel Ortom.”

Lastly, Terver Akase said, “under the former governor of Benue state, the executive council had an agreement that Samuel Ortom should leave with his vehicles but what is happening today is different. We have moved the case to court. we just want the current governor should know that power is transient.”
