Imo 2023:It Is Our Hope That We Will Sack APC From Govt House- Athan Achonu Says As He Expects Obi In Imo

Athan Achonu, who is running for governor of Imo State and briefed journalists today in Owerri, the state capital, declared that all was ready to receive Peter Obi and his entourage the next day.

Achonu is the candidate for the Labour Party governorship in Imo State.

As a candidate for president, Peter Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, ran against Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the candidate for the All Progressives Congress. Obi ultimately came out on the losing end of that race.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, often known as INEC, has announced that the election for governor of Imo State will take place on November 11, 2023.

According to a report in The Punch paper, The LP’s governorship candidate in the state, Athan Achonu, while speaking with journalists, stated the following: “His Excellency, Mr. Peter Obi, the governor of Abia State, our national chairman and other national officers of our party will be with us as we flag off our campaign for the November 11 governorship election in Imo State.”

In continuation, he stated, “Of course, the Labor Party is the party to beat. We are ready, we have the support of the people, and it is our hope that we will be successful in removing the APC from the government house.

Senator Athan Achonu, a former member of Congress who is currently serving as a senator, plans to run for governor of Imo State in 2023 among a number of other formidable candidates, including the incumbent governor, Hope Uzodimma of the All Progressives Congress.
