‘I’m distracted, allow me do my job,’ Gov Eno kicks as politicians flood Govt House

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has voiced his concerns regarding the disruptive presence of politicians at the Government House during working hours. In a video shared on Facebook during a congregation, Governor Eno expressed his grievances and appealed to politicians to grant him the space and focus required to carry out his elected responsibilities.

Governor Eno highlighted that the constant influx of unexpected visits from politicians across the state was causing significant distractions. He emphasized his preference for appointments and expressed his amusement at individuals who would spontaneously arrive at the Government House, only to complain about not being granted immediate access.

The governor firmly stated his commitment to maintaining a structured approach, emphasizing that he would not visit anyone’s office without a prior arrangement. His message underscored the importance of allowing him the opportunity to concentrate on his duties without unnecessary interruptions.

“I will only receive visitors on Thursdays and Fridays. I beg us, between Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, I will not receive visitors to allow me time to do the job that you have elected me to do because no one would ask how many visitors I received at the end of four years.

“Allow us to hold the meeting we can hold, treat some files – you know we are almost treating files late, and I have tried to manage it for some time, but people would get angry,” he said.
