The All Progressives Congress (APC) Professionals Council has delivered a vote of confidence in Femi Gbajabiamila, the chief of staff to the president, lauding his integrity and longstanding record of excellence. This response comes in the wake of allegations by a group claiming bias in Gbajabiamila’s appointments of ministers and other high-ranking government officials.
Hon. Seyi Bamigbade, the national director-general of the APC Professionals Council, conveyed this sentiment during a recent visit to Fuad Kayode Laguda, an aspirant for the Surulere 1 Federal Constituency in Lagos. He clarified that the responsibility of appointing individuals to work alongside President Bola Tinubu lies with him.
Bamigbade further advised those who are accusing Gbajabiamila of inappropriate actions to direct their concerns where they are most appropriate.
Bamigbade remarked, “We are disheartened by baseless allegations from an anonymous group claiming to support the APC, accusing Femi Gbajabiamila of sidelining them in ministerial appointments.”
He added, “It’s worth reminding them that Gbajabiamila does not wield the authority to issue appointment letters. That responsibility falls to President and Commander-in-Chief, Bola Tinubu.”
