Phrank Shaibu, the Public Communication Special Assistant to Atiku Abubakar, has confirmed the accuracy of Ayodele Fayose’s description of Nyesom Wike, the former Governor of Rivers State, as “an ordinary lunatic.” This comes after Fayose expressed admiration for Wike’s assertiveness and suggested that having someone with average madness as a minister in Nigeria could be beneficial.
Shaibu, however, disagreed with Fayose’s statement and cautioned President Bola Tinubu about considering Wike for a ministerial role. He warned that appointing Wike as a minister would be like putting a lunatic in charge of an asylum, implying that it could have negative consequences.
In his statement, Shaibu expressed gratitude to Fayose for characterizing Wike as an “ordinary lunatic” and argued that only someone with a deranged mindset would resort to violence to impede political campaigners or undermine the collective voice of the people.
